Which BTX is this?
At least six cryptocurrencies and one Singapore-listed stock use the ticker BTX. This page is about one of them: BTX (post-quantum Bitcoin), and it exists because the others keep showing up in search results next to it.
The one this site covers
BTX (post-quantum Bitcoin) launched in 2026 as a fork of Bitcoin Knots. It replaces ECDSA with ML-DSA, the lattice signature scheme NIST standardized as FIPS 204 (opens in a new tab) in August 2024, and it mines with MatMul, a matrix-multiplication proof of work. The cap is 21 million coins, minted at 20 BTX per block in the current era.
You can recognize it by its addresses. Transparent addresses start with btx1z, shielded ones with btxs1q. The block explorer is btxscan.io (opens in a new tab), reference data lives at btxprice.com (opens in a new tab), and the protocol site is btx.dev (opens in a new tab). BTX trades on btx.trade, an OTC desk that settles against USDC.

Ten-second checks
Three details separate post-quantum BTX from everything else on this list.
- check 01The addresses
They begin with btx1z or btxs1q.
- check 02The signatures
Its documentation names ML-DSA and FIPS 204.
- check 03The blocks
They appear on btxscan.io.
A price page that shows a “BTX” with none of those three is showing you a different asset.
Trading brands that use the letters
Several trading businesses also carry the name. A forex broker operates as “BTX Group”. A New York service from 2013 was called “BTX Trader”. A Bitcoin exchange comparison site runs at btxchange.io. They are unaffiliated with this desk and with the chain. The desk has one domain, btx.trade, and one contact address, team@btx.trade. Check the address bar before you fund anything; anything else claiming the name is somebody else.
